Commissioned in 2425, the BlueShark was originally intended to be a light fighter-trainer with space flight capabilities, but as the GCN began to encounter increasing levels of piracy and organized military-grade crime, the BlueShark's design was completely rethought. Eventually, the BlueShark was superceded by the more powerful SX22 BlueShark II, but continues to be used on a large scale by GCN member states and colonies.
