(Pronounced Tau-ROSS or Too-ROSS) A satellite of Mars, artificially created by combining asteroids and comets. Its name is derived from the Martian word for rainstorms, Torren.

Torros was created as a means of providing Mars with tides and a more stable seasonal cycle, and secondarily functions as a protective measure by attracting incoming asteroids to itself. To avoid having Torros collide with Deimos and Phobos, these two moons were moved to different (more stable) orbits. At night, all three moons can be seen at any given time.
